| Spring Gun & Knife Show- Last Weekend in March |

or trade new guns, old guns, memorabilia and more during
this big annual Spring Gun and
Knife Show the second Saturday and Sunday in March in
the Historic Hardy Gym. This is a good time
to see not only the newest guns and knives available
but also old guns, Civil War memorabilia, decoys and
calls. Knives of all shapes and sizes will be for sale. Knife sharpening will also be offered. Food vendors
will be on site both days for refreshments.The show,
sponsored by the City of Hardy,
will be held from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday,

Dr. Thompson Park will be the site of the Spring River Artist Guild Art in the Park. En plein air is a French expression which means "in the open air", and is particularly used to describe the act of painting outdoors. The popularity of painting en plein air increased in the 1870s with the introduction of paints in tubes (resembling modern toothpaste tubes). Previously, each painter made their own paints by grinding and mixing dry pigment powders with linseed oil. Come enjoy the paintings of our local artists and be prepared to purchase a painting to be treasured for generations to come. This event will be held in the Historic Hardy Gym from 11am to 2:30 pm. The meal includes beans, cornbread, dessert, and drink. Adult $6.00 under 12 $3.00. Sponsored by the Hardy Garden Club. Some of the Best Ham and Beans ever cooked can be bought at this annual event. Everyone is invited to come out and have a bowl or two. The event supports the Hardy Garden Club's many projects. The Hardy Garden is a vital part of the City of Hardy. Arts & Crafts Festival- April 17-18 |
There will be plenty of arts & crafts,
food, music and fun for the whole family as the Historic Hardy's Annual Spring Arts & Crafts Festival gets
into full swing Saturday and Sunday on the third weekend in April. The festival is free and open to the
public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m.
until 4 p.m. on Sunday. This is a juried show, which ensures
the public of merchandise that meets set standards.
Vendors from as far away as Maryland, Florida, and seven
other states make Historic Hardy's Arts & Crafts
Festival an event that annually attracts thousands of folks . The Festival includes over 100 craft vendors
showing a large variety of handmade crafts, including
wooden items, jewelry, clothing, candles, salsas, florals,
dolls, holiday items, and many other unique crafts. In
addition, a variety of food vendors will be serving up
such unique taste treats as alligator on a stick, kettle
korn, Ozark BBQ, deep fried twinkies and onion blossoms;
as well as the traditional favorites of ice cream, roasted
nuts, fresh lemonade, and more. Family fun and musical
entertainment will be provided at different points throughout
the festival area for kids, including bounce houses, face
painting and more. Free music performances will be located
along Main Street.
The festival will take place along Main Street Hardy which has been restored to the quaint beauty of a past century, and in
the Historic Hardy Gym. There is plenty of free
parking right on the Main Street and one block off Main Street. The festival and the over 75 specialty
shops that comprise the National Register Historic District
in Hardy are all located within the five block downtown
area.

THE BIGGEST TRIBUTE YET TO COME! GREAT MUSIC, GREAT ARTISTS AND LOADS OF GUESTS WILL ENJOY HOURS OF FABULOUS ENTERTAINMENT.
The world famous Wilburn Brothers were born in Hardy Arkansas. The Wilburn Brothers started 72 years ago as children, singing on the street corner. Overcoming hard times and the war they came back and became one of America's most beloved singing groups.
From the Louisiana Hayride show to the Grand Ole Opry these boys used hard work and determination to climb the music charts. Every year on the Saturday before Memorial Day the City of Hardy pays tribute to these hometown boys. The entire Wilburn Family attends the nostalgic event. Fans are able to talk with the Wilburn's and visit with Ms. Geraldine, Doyle and Teddy's sister. Little Leslie Wilburn performs on his fiddle in the fine family tradition.
This event is quickly becoming one of the highlights of the season so come bring your lawn chairs and enjoy a night under the stars that you won't soon forget. This year features Nashville entertainer and world renown Fiddly Player Buddy Spicher. Buddy played with the Wilburn Brothers back in the day. Local musical talent will also be featured.
IN 2009 LOCAL AND OUT OF TOWN GUESTS STREAMED BY THE BIG TENT TO EXPRESS THEIR APPRECIATION AND SHARE MEMORIES OF THE WILBURN BROTHERS. MUSIC ARTISTS SIGNED AUTOGRAPHS AND SOLD CD'S AFTER THE SHOW TO THE DELIGHT OF EVERYONE. REFRESHMENTS WERE SOLD BY SEVERAL LOCAL NON PROFIT GROUPS.

Vintage and Antique Car owners will be cruisin' their classic dreams into downtown Hardy around 5pm. Cruisers will park along the Main Street where they will enjoy a cook out provided by the Advertising and Promotions Commission. Everyone is welcome to come stroll down the rows of highly polished, proudly owned cars. Come prepared to dance to the 50's style music that will be provided by a local band. Last year the streets were still hoppin' at 8 p.m. Every generation came to enjoy the cruise and the shops on Main Street were open for business as well. Be there or be square. The Hardy Homesteaders celebrate their 19th annual Homesteaders Day.
Music, rides, and a dress contest, will entertain visitors.
Don’t forget to bring your favorite box turtle for the
exciting Terrapin Races. The event will be held the 2nd Saturday in June, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. in Loberg Park,
just off Main Street.
Homesteaders Day provides a brief glimpse into the lives of
our Ozark ancestors through personal historical interpretation
and re-enactment of routine daily activities particular to the
pioneers and their families that settled in the Hardy area.
Visitors will see character portrayals of the tradesmen, sutlers,
craftspeople and ordinary folk that made up area communities,
as well as the sights, sounds, and smells of an era all but
forgotten and unknown to younger generations, whose only exposure
may come in the form of history books or movies.
There will be live music, wagon rides, the ever
popular Terrapin Races, a turn on the bucking barrel, dancing,
and an old fashioned dress contest. Visitors can register at
the front gate for door-prizes which include a hand stitched quilt, and drawings throughout the day.

| T-Bucket Bash July 15 |
This event was so successful last year that it is sure to become a crowd pleaser for years to come. Come join the fun. HOT RODS! HOT RODS! and more HOT RODS! 100 or more T-buckets will converge on the downtown Historic District with a buzz and a rumble on Thursday around 11:00 A.M. They will park, shop, and eat in the downtown area for around 3 hours. During this time spectators are encouraged to stroll by and enjoy the "eye candy" of the rip roaring, faster than lightening vintage cars. The newest event to hit the circuit in Hardy is The 2010 Outdoor Sportsmen's Show. The Hardy Volunteer Fire Department will put on this event with sponsorship from local entities. Loberg Park will be filled from Daylight to Dusk on this Saturday with Sporting Equipment featuring outdoor sports such as fishing, hunting, camping, boating, gunning, archery etc/ Music, Food,Competitions, Demonstrations, an Auction, and Hot July Deals are all in the plan. This event is in the planning stages so watch this site for more details. There is the possibilily of a BBQ cookoff as well. ONLY 161 SHOPPING DAYS TIL CHRISTMAS.
Also to be featured will be great water fun for the kids. Especially geared toward ages 3-10. This will be the 7th year for this water festival. Festivities start @ 11:00 and wind down at 3:00. There will be a water slide and water games so wear something to get wet in. The Hardy Volunteer Fire Department will be there with the water curtain and the new water cannon for a splashing good time. A temporary beach will be a feature. | Family and Friends Flea Market. This is a new and exciting event that will be held on the FNBC parking lot in Hardy on Saturday September 26th from 8am to 4pm. Treausures of all kinds will be offered up for your buying pleasure. If you need to sell something instead of buying then space is available to all FNBC customers on a first come, first serve basis and are $10.00 per space which is approximately the size of the parking spaces in the FNBC parking lot in Hardy. 3 days of traditional Native American events including a princess contest. This annual event is held in Loberg Park which was the traditional camping grounds for the Native American summer soltice. The public is welcome and encouraged to come and learn the ways of the forefathers. All dancers and drummers welcome. There will be a trading area, Admission is free.

| The Octoberfest of 2010 is growing and has many great features for children of all ages. The event will kick off on the third Friday of October and continue into Saturday. Craft demonstrations will be set up in Dr. Thompson Park with the possibility of artists in attendance from the Spring River Artists Guild Art Show. We are proud to boast that downtown Historic Hardy is the new location for the 10th Annual NEAVF Volks-Folks Car Show. This year the event will featuring "Timeless Transportation". Saturday will come in with a beep beep and a flash when the Volks Folks roll into town for a full blown, all out, car show and swap meet. The Volkswagen show benefits the American Cancer Society. Trail of Terror- October 31st |
Due to flooding the Trail of Terror was held in the Historic Hardy Gym last year. What a blast it was too. Over 950 kids attended. All dressed up and accompanied by proud parents the kids loaded up on candy and made a visit to the pumpkin patch to decorate a pint size pumpkin. Hope to see you this year. Sign up for a free booth space early to assure the best spot. *****Lots of fun things to see and great candy to boot. Spooky fun for the kids. Parents dress up too and escort your little goblins down the trail while gathering all kinds of great treats. All for free. Don't be scared, it's only a trail of terror!

| This years 2010 theme will be Here Comes Santa Claus, It will be Hardy's 26th Christmas Parade and the tradition of a good time and lots of entertainment will continue. Come rain or shine or hopefully snow, the Parade starts at the City Hall @124 Woodland Hills Road promptly at 11 a.m. and continues down Historic Hardys' Main Street and then turns right into the drive through at Simmons Bank. This is an extremely popular event with entrants numbering around 60. A sure DON"T MISS IT event. Call and sign up early. There are prizes and points are awarded for sticking to the theme.
